To build excitement for the upcoming NBA draft, along with limited edition NBA draft caps, regulation basketball hoops were placed in select markets across the US. Anyone who wanted to see if they had what it takes to be drafted by the NBA were invited. And what does it take? Simple. Well, kinda. If you can get above the rim and dunk it on your first try, you’ll be added to the NBA Above the Brim Team. You’ll be rewarded with your selection of a NBA draft cap and team shirt. Your name, photo and team pick will be uploaded to the first round board that you can share on social media for bragging rights.

On Instagram, NBA draft cap accounts were created for each team. For each account, 9 video squares made up a single image of the team’s NBA draft cap. One of the videos randomly placed in each post invited followers to comment and tag themselves to receive a free cap.
